Building confidence to consider a new oncology option
Using expert insight to shape a launch strategy grounded in unmet need, clinical confidence and patient selection
In a symposium poll, 94% of responding clinicians said that the data presented had positively impacted their confidence in treating appropiate patients
Challenge
A client preparing to launch a new oncology treatment was entering a setting with a deeply rooted standard of care, supported by many years of clinical experience and long-term data.
The new option had an important potential role; it offered comparable efficacy with a differentiated toxicity profile, creating value for patients where tolerability and quality of life were important considerations. But clinicians needed confidence that choosing a treatment with an improved toxicity profile did not mean compromising on outcomes.

The challenge was to understand where the unmet need was greatest, which patients could benefit the most, and what evidence and education clinicians would need to feel confident to consider a new option in practice.
BRAVE Approach
BRAVE designed and delivered an expert advisory board to explore the clinical, practical and behavioural factors shaping treatment decisions.

Rather than treating the discussion as a data validation exercise, we used it to understand why clinicians were attached to the existing standard of care, what confidence the long-term data gave them, and where a differentiated toxicity profile could meaningfully change the treatment conversation.

Those insights were then translated into a brand positioning workshop with the client’s cross-functional team. Together, we defined the treatment’s role in practice, the patient types most likely to benefit and the clinical confidence story needed for launch.

From there, BRAVE developed the strategic and creative platform for launch, pulling this through into launch materials, educational events and wider scientific engagement.
Results / Impact
The work gave the client a launch strategy grounded in real clinical decision making and unmet need.

The resulting campaign created a clear strategic thread through expert insight, positioning, creative development and field engagement. In a symposium poll, 94% of responding clinicians said that the data presented had positively impacted their confidence in treating appropriate patients. By connecting clinical insight, patient need and practical education, BRAVE helped the launch team engage oncologists with relevance, credibility and confidence.
