Turning scientific possibility into strategic direction
Aligning a global, cross-functional oncology team behind the ambition and priorities for a novel Phase 1 asset
The team moved forward with greater clarity, confidence and alignment, galvanised as a newly formed group, connected to the company's ambition.
Challenge
A global oncology client had a novel mechanism of action with a scientific rationale that spanned across multiple tumour types. The opportunity was significant, but so was the complexity.

With many potential development paths, the team needed to align behind the strongest tumour priorities and define an overall ambition for the asset. Success depended on bringing scientific, clinical, commercial and portfolio perspectives together to make early, confident choices.
BRAVE Approach
BRAVE designed and facilitated a series of cross-functional, decision-making workshops to help the team move from scientific possibility to strategic clarity.

We brought external experts into the conversation, ensuring clinical perspectives shaped the decision making alongside internal scientific, commercial and portfolio considerations.

Using a race track analogy, we helped teams explore the “race” for each tumour type: what success could look like, what barriers might emerge and which development choices would create the greatest future value.
We supported the team to weigh up scientific rationale, clinical data, external expert insight, competitive landscape, development feasibility and market potential. This gave the group a structured way to compare options, challenge assumptions and align behind priority indications.
The process also connected the asset vision to the wider portfolio and company ambition, helping individual team members see how their work contributed to the future value of the medicine.
Results / Impact
The work aligned the cross-functional team behind three priority tumour types and created a clear strategic vision for the asset.

BRAVE then supported the team to develop the business case for the clinical development plans needed to realise that ambition, grounded in scientific rationale and future launch value drivers.

The team fed back that the workshops helped them galvanise as a newly formed group, connect with the company’s ambition for the asset and move forward with greater clarity, confidence and alignment.
