Owing to internal and external drivers of change affecting our Global Medical Affairs client, the leadership team had recently refreshed their vision for the function, redefining core capabilities and initiating internal workstreams to implement the vision.

We were asked to work with senior leadership to design and develop an internal change management programme framework, supporting engagement and alignment behind the vision and embedding the redefined core capabilities.

We designed and delivered an annual summit for the department of 180 attendees, working closely with senior leadership to articulate the new vision and cascade awareness of the need for change. Through creative, interactive sessions, we galvanised the team behind the new vision and embedded understanding of new internal workstreams. The sessions included:

  • Vision-boarding

  • A Dragons Den/Shark Tank

  • External speakers

  • An awards ceremony

  • Interactive Q&A with senior leadership

To drive change beyond the impact that an annual summit could make, we designed and delivered initiatives including a best practice platform, manager toolkits, a reward and recognition framework, internal communications, job description updates, and tactical planning framework updates.

Feedback included:

  • participants reporting increased understanding of the Medical Affairs vision and enterprise importance (81%)

  • feeling better equipped to translate the vision to their personal role (77%)

  • being motivated to adopt a growth mindset (76%)

  • understanding new internal initiatives (79%)

  • feeling confident in using new skills and resources (75%)
