With Phase 3 results for a new oncology treatment expected, our client asked us to support the cross-functional team collaborate in scenario planning and action planning for all likely data readout scenarios, ensuring organisational readiness. 

 

We designed and facilitated a workshop for the cross-functional team using a stepwise process that enabled clear, strategic choices to be made based on a common understanding of the trial, possible results, and implications for key stakeholders.

Based on these, the team aligned on key actions for immediate and longer-term implementation. The action plan formats provided clear prioritisation and accountability, helping the team to take forward strategically important but operationally less urgent projects. 

 

Stakeholder management before, during, and after the workshop, including communications to executive leadership, were vital to ensure the action plans were beneficial and immediately acted on. 

 

The workshop design set the patient need as a clear north star and brought the voice of external stakeholders to life through an engaging role-play format. Client feedback highlighted the strong facilitation skills and workshop design, which fostered collaboration, allowed diverse perspective-sharing, and drove a sense of urgency.  

 

The format has since been applied to Phase 3 studies for other indications in the company.
